Job Description
As a Youth Development Specialist, you will serve as a flex houseparent for a group of approximately 8-12 students. This role involves creating a nurturing environment, supporting students' emotional and academic needs, and handling responsibilities such as administration, budgeting, and transportation. You will work closely with your spouse to provide a consistent family-like structure for students and handle various responsibilities, including driving, administering medication, and reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Couples must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. Abiding by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus is essential, as well as limiting pets to fish and one approved dog breed. Valid driver's licenses and ability to become certified to drive student home vans are also required. Both spouses must be comfortable leading daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services. A high school diploma or GED is necessary, and candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity. Finally, both spouses must complete an individual employment application.
