Transform Lives as a Residential Youth Support Specialist
The Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to join our team as Residential Youth Support Specialists. In this unique role, you will have the opportunity to guide and nurture students from disadvantaged backgrounds in a supportive family-like environment.
About the Role
As a Residential Youth Support Specialist, you will reside on campus with your spouse and work together to manage a student home. You will provide daily care, support, and guidance to a group of approximately 8-12 students, fostering a positive and structured living experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care and support to students
- Manage student homes and maintain a clean and safe living environment
- Foster a positive and structured living experience for students
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure students' physical, emotional, and educational needs are met
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- Be legally married for at least two years
- Be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Limitations on pets; only fish and one dog of approved breeds are permitted
- Valid driver's license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students
