The Residential Youth Caregiver position at Milton Hershey School involves married couples serving as flex houseparents, providing guidance to students in a supervised living environment. Responsibilities include nurturing a group of 8-12 students, administering medication, and handling daily household tasks while creating a supportive family atmosphere. The role offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. We require experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Both spouses must be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and take students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services (Note: Proselytizing is prohibited).
Salary and Benefits
We offer a salary of $43,825 per person (a total compensation package of approx. $150,000 per couple which includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more). Additionally, we provide comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts; life insurance; disability options; retirement savings. Relocation assistance and paid training are also provided. Our schedule consists of nine days on followed by three days off, allowing you time to relax and recharge. You will have a three-week paid summer vacation to spend with your loved ones.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or GED required. Both spouses should be age 27 or older, and no more than three dependent children may reside in the student home. A valid driver's license is necessary, as well as the ability to become certified to drive student home vans. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students.
