The Position:
The Activities Aide provides therapeutic activities to residents that are designed to meet the interests and to improve the physical, mental and psycho-social well-being of each resident according to the comprehensive resident assessment and plan of care. Individual resident programs assist the resident to maintain lifelong interests and self-esteem while promoting physical, cognitive and emotional functioning. The Activities Aide provides activities in accord with the facility policies and procedures and consistent with state and federal laws and regulations.
The Department Responsibilities:
- Carries out individual and group activities that meet the functional levels, needs and interests (including cultural and religious interests) of each resident.
- Completes documentation for assigned elders with quality insight, accurate information and in a timely manner.
Seeks and identifies ways to support resident's individual needs and preferences, customary routines, concerns and choices. - Gather data from assigned residents to complete and update activities assessments and plans of care.
- Assists Residents getting to and from activities.
The Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
Long Term Care setting experience (preferred)
Prior Therapeutic Activities experience (preferred)
