Supervisor : Senior Registrar
Union Minimum Salary : $45,000, negotiable with experience
Position Summary :
Under general supervision of the Director of Registration, the Assistant Registrar for Exhibitions and Loans is responsible for registration functions related to loan-based exhibitions and in-house collections-based exhibitions; budget development; coordination and shipping of incoming / outgoing loans; management of electronic and physical files; and other related duties assigned by Senior Registrar. The Assistant Registrar, Exhibitions and Loans works collaboratively with Curatorial, Conservation, Design, Art Preparation, as well as the Exhibitions Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Assist in preparing and processing all exhibition-related paperwork including correspondence, loan agreements, insurance, and object receipts
- Review lender requirements on loan agreements and ensuring accurate and consistent data entry into The Museum System (TMS)
- Assist with coordinating details regarding exhibition crating, incoming and outgoing shipments, and couriers
- Assist with drafting schedules for the movement, installation, and deinstallation of objects and exhibitions
- Assist with preparation of exhibition budgets by procuring estimates and monitoring expenditures
- Help to ensure adherence to art safety, proper handing, and security procedures during installations and deinstallations
- Archive all exhibition records and files
- Provide general support to the Registration team, as needed
- Candidate must complete Security Threat Assessment application, as part of MAM’s participation in the Certified Cargo Screening Program
- Perform other related duties, as assigned
