Steamfitter – Temperature Control
Milwaukee County Mitchell International Airport
Hourly Pay Rate: 47.93

Job Summary: To maintain, repair and install the equipment and systems that heat, cool and ventilate the facility. Building codes require that we maintain standards to occupy the facility.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain, repair, and install HVAC system controls - Maintain, repair and install digital and pneumatic controls. Maintain and repair boiler and chiller controls.
Maintain, repair and install fluid system lines - Maintain, repair and install hot and chilled water, vapor, gas and other fluid system lines.
Estimate jobs - To estimate the costs of material and labor needed for jobs.
Maintain inventory - To maintain a proper inventory of repairs parts and tools necessary to complete commonly performed jobs.
Read blueprints and inspect projects done by others - Read blueprints and construction documents to perform repairs and also to comment on proposed projects. To assist engineering department during inspections of completed projects.
Required Education, License and Experience:
Current resident of the State of Wisconsin.
A valid state of Wisconsin driver’s license at time of hire and maintained throughout employment.
High School diploma or GED and/or Completion of Steamfitter Apprenticeship.
At least (4) Four years of experience, which includes 2 years of maintenance and repair of control systems.
Class 2 Airport Driver’s License within 6 months of hire.
Ability to lift, carry up to 60 lbs. and push, and pull up to 60 lbs.
Applicants must successfully undergo a criminal history background check to establish security clearance for Milwaukee County facilities and maintain this clearance throughout employment.
License –
Wisconsin Steamfitter Registered Apprenticeship required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Considerable irregularity of hours due to frequent overtime, weekend or shift rotation
Regular and/or frequent on-call availability
Occasional stress due to deadlines or workload because of intermittent or cyclical work pressures, or occasional exposure to distressed individuals within the immediate work environment.
