Data Reporting Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, is responsible for extracting and managing patient information from the EMR to create and manage a database and extrapolating and interpreting medical records on patients at MHSI facilities. This includes error and consistency checks of submitted data, identification and verification of outliers, and coordination of database utilization to ensure data is readily available for analyses. Ensures all report forms are processed according to established procedures and protocols for data entry into the database.

Responsibilities include designing and maintaining multiple databases, verifying and monitoring provider data accuracy, writing data queries and report design for internal and external customers, and other related duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Milwaukee Health Services, Inc. Standards. OCHIN Epic experience preferred.

POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possess strong analytical skills to evaluate internal data and determine trends that will enhance and streamline business performance
  • Be responsible for leveraging their understanding of clinical processes, programming, statistics, data gathering, and visualization to effectively define, distribute, and maintain those insights to drive positive outcomes
  • Passion for improving clinical decision-making and healthcare delivery
  • Proficient with Clarity Reporting
  • Proficient with Financial and Clinical operation reports
  • Proficient with OCHIN EHR reporting
  • Proficient UDS and Quality Reporting
  • Proficient with Wisdom reporting
  • Pharmacy and 340B reporting
  • User and provider productivity reports to include schedule utilization
  • Experience with other OCHIN Epic modules preferred
  • Responsible for working with project teams and stakeholders and supporting multiple projects
  • Participate in strategic and tactical planning and execution of projects
  • Conduct research, analyze data and information, and prepare executive project summaries for government leadership

  • Back-up the EHR Specialist by serving as a point of contact for technical support calls received by phone, email, internal help desk system, or other methods.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: A degree in Accounting/Business Administration from an accredited institution is preferred. Formal OCHIN Epic training required. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically with Microsoft Excel.

Experience: Candidate should possess 3-5 years of customer service, accounting, and medical billing background. Medical reporting and OCHIN Epic background preferred

Expertise: The candidate should also be a good listener, have a clear speaking voice, and be able to communicate information and ideas. Be quick with decision-making and use logic and reasoning - the ability to make critical decisions and take immediate action with minimal supervision. Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in a clinical or EHR setting. Knowledge of training and teaching strategies, methodologies, and basic instructional concepts. Ability to perform practical one-on-one and group training. Extensive knowledge of EPIC system (EHR).

Language: Comprehend and use written or spoken language to communicate information and ideas.

Hours of Work: May vary based on Organizational need.

Travel: May vary based on Organizational need.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,908.00 - $64,000.00 per year
