POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Stagehand (ASH) is a seasonal position that is an integral part of our Resident Crew, and works alongside the I.A.T.S.E. stagehands from load-in to strike of Milwaukee Rep productions. The ASH receives hands on learning in the assembly of both static and automated scenery and learns how to efficiently run the backstage scenery and props. Additional opportunities in scenery construction and hands on experience in other technical areas are available as the schedule allows and employee requests.
Major Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Work with I.A.T.S.E stagehands to load-in, tech, run, and strike Milwaukee Rep productions and events.
- Assist stagehands with the preset and running of scenery and props.
- Assist resident crew with creating and maintaining safe stage and work areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE
Hours are based around the performance schedule which includes evenings, weekends, and some afternoons. This is a seasonal position running September 29, 2025 to June 21, 2026.

Technical Knowledge and Experience:
- Some experience working in a professional technical theater environment.
- Desire to build a foundation for a career in the live entertainment industry.
- This is an educational position and does not assume an extensive depth of experience; a desire to learn, the ability to self-start, multitask, troubleshoot, and adapt quickly are most important.
