Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) invites applications for a full-time Coordinator of Raider Center for Academic Success to join our Student Affairs and Campus Inclusion team. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Raider Center for Academic Success (RCAS), the Coordinator of RCAS is to promote student success by providing students of all abilities, cultures and socio-economic levels opportunities to access the resources necessary to meet their goals. The RCAS Coordinator is responsible to the Assistant Director in meeting departmental goals in student development and training, Raider Success Course instruction, and student success coaching. The RCAS Coordinator will focus on the case management of academically underprepared and at-risk first-year MSOE students and managing the day-to-day responsibilities of the academic peer mentoring program.
Essential Job Functions
- Serve as a Raider Success Coach for 125-175 students, adhering to best-practices and techniques that establish rapport and maintain a supportive, developmental relationship to a broad student population.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Raider Success Allies (academic peer mentors) and support the efforts of the Raider Success Coaches (professional coaches).
- Practice holistic, proactive, intrusive, data-driven outreach, resource referral, and interventions to meet student needs, especially those with complex issues that may span multiple offices / areas.
- Generate data and reports to help identify barriers to student satisfaction, retention and academic progression; engage in outreach to and documentation of students identified as at-risk and support university personnel who work with students encountering institutional challenges.
- Facilitate open communication and maintain working relationships with colleagues throughout campus, including students, academic departments, and the administration of the university (e.g. Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Office of Academics, academic department advising units).
- Provide student support to faculty and staff using the Early Alert System to offer timely intervention for at-risk behaviors.
- Serve as an instructor for Raider Success Courses, staying abreast and implementing instructional standards that promote student engagement and development.
- Support day-to-day operations of the Raider Center for Academic Success, including programming efforts, new initiatives, or forward-facing services.
- Help in supporting All-In Milwaukee and NACME scholars in utilizing RCAS services to maintain scholarships.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all MSOE academic programs, policies, and resources.
