** This position is 100% on-site at our New Berlin facility with no ability to work remote. Travel to our Prairie Du Sac facility is expected at least on a quarterly basis. **

Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources Team at our New Berlin, WI facility. Eligible candidates must be willing to travel to Prairie Du Sac, WI at least once a quarter.

Summary - Administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following:

  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Assists in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Assists in planning and conducting new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Assists in coordinating management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Supports and actively assists in administering performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Assists the H.R. team in administering benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.
  • Assists in preparing budget of human resources operations.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as canteen, transportation, or relocation service.

Education and/or Experience - A Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year College, combined with six months to one year of Human Resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, Ultipro and/or other payroll processing software.
