What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Assistant position at Mind Blossom?
NeuroNest is hiring two research assistants to assist with data collection for a project focused on understanding different states of relaxation. The research assistants will independently prepare the experimental set-up and collect data with a variety of biosensors (heart rate, muscle activity, and respiration). Both research assistants will receive hands-on training by NeuroNest personnel prior to the start of the study. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals that are interested in gaining further research experience with biosensors and who are passionate about contributing to research that can help people.
The research will take place at a 1401 Severn Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21230
Responsibilities and duties:
- Expected start date: In March/April 2025
- Training: 2 weeks of paid training
Day to day work (after training period):
- Conduct a pilot study in collaboration with the project supervisor (1 weeks)
- Prepare and set up biosensors independently
- Conduct experimental data collection independently
- Organize, export and visually inspect the collected data
- Participate in regular meetings
This job is in-person and will include collaborating with other researchers and business professionals.
Requirements and job expectations:
- Language: Fluent English.
- Education: Completed bachelor degree in a relevant field, including but not limited to psychology, medicine, neuroscience, and engineering.
- Expectations about the person:
A timely, positive and motivated team player
An organized person who is capable of scheduling their week independently
A reliable communicator
- Hours: Full time schedule (40 hours/week)
- Duration: A minimum of 6 weeks (5 days/full time) with extension based on research project needs. The employment period will include:
2 weeks of training
1 week of data collection for a pilot study
3 weeks of data collection for a research study
These weeks are likely not consecutive. Therefore, please consider your availability for a ~ 3 month period.
Desired (but not required) qualifications:
- In the process of completing a postgraduate degree in a relevant field
- Prior experience with conducting research, in particular an active role in data collection
- Interest in biosensor technology
