Responsibilities
- Greet patients and manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling inquiries.
- Maintain patient records with accuracy, ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of patient charts and documentation for medical visits.
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility for managed care plans.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Eaglesoft to input and retrieve patient information.
- Support clinical staff by preparing examination rooms and assisting during patient procedures when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care, including follow-up appointments and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient practice management and optimal patient care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office administration is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is essential; experience in a dental office setting is a plus.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks; knowledge of Eaglesoft is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
