About the position-
The Assistant Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing materials, checklists, and other shop related operations.
- Manages and maintains all checklist systems.
- Organizes and manages time frames and schedules.
- Identifies problems related to shop production, and helps solve them.
- Plans and implements the assembly process by reading and understanding drawings or blueprints and gathers necessary materials and tools to complete order. Ensures that assembled items meet specific quality specifications.
- Complies with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Orders required supplies.
- Coordinate deliveries of all incoming material.
- Communicate directly with Field Foreman to coordinate outgoing deliveries.
- Safety related responsibilities-
- Attend all OSHA consults and visits
- Enforce safety rules
- Ensure all safety documents are completed and distributed- i.e. weekly toolbox talks, weekly site safety walks, daily machinery inspections, near miss reports, safety violations, etc.
Hours- M-F, 40 hours per week, 7:00-4:30 (flexible)
Location- Lonsdale, MN
Education/Experience
- 2 year associate's degree minimum
- Construction Management degree preferred
- Construction industry experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in computer-based software including Word and Excel.
- Experience with drafting and modeling software (AutoCad, MiTek, Revit, etc.)
- Knowledge of construction-related equipment and sound demonstrated use.
- Demonstrated ability to make good independent judgment and decisions.
- Good teamwork and collaboration effort.
- Strong problem solving, multitasking and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates awareness of all health and safety protocols.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills (methods to include phone, email, & texting).
Salary : $20 - $35
