High School English Teacher

Mindcare Tutoring’s goal is to create a comprehensive therapy experience that provides our students, their families, and other professionals involved with the guidance and plans they need for ultimate success in the treatment of identified issues.

JOB SUMMARY

• Review existing data available and conduct initial evaluation of students’ needs.

• Generate/update measurable goals to address areas of need and provide quality instruction and formative assessing to maintain and improve instructional plans

• Provide ongoing evaluation of student’s progress status and goals, modifying instructional program as necessary.

• Instruct and advise students, family and other professionals involved about specific areas in which they may support your instructional program to further assist the student.

• Provide documentation according to policy and procedures (IEP updates and reports)

• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, or standards.

• Adhere to infection control policies and protocols to protect students and other involved professionals.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• Master's degree in General Education (Specific Subjects for High School Teachers)

• Graduate of an accredited program.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of one year of experience post-license teaching students in subject area(s).

• Demonstrated knowledge of NYS standards and skills necessary to provide instruction to and communicate with students, families, and other adult population.

• Demonstrated knowledge of children’ growth and development.

• Ability to assess data reflecting student’s strengths and areas of need and to use this information needed to identify adequate entry points relative to their age-specific needs.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE

• Valid New York State license as a General Education Teacher (subject(s)

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact well with diverse student populations.

• Experience with building relationships, emphasizing excellence, negotiation, results driven, planning and execution.

• Self-starter who requires minimal supervision
