Key Responsibilities
- Billing and Payment Processing
- Post payments from consumers and insurance providers accurately and promptly.
- Serve as a backup for submitting billing claims to insurance providers and managed care organizations (MCOs).
- Research and resolve denied claims, including initiating appeals as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date records of billing transactions and claim statuses.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Create and maintain spreadsheets with detailed claim information and notes for monthly meetings with MCO representatives.
- Run accounts receivable (AR) reports, identify discrepancies, and follow up to ensure outstanding balances are addressed.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare reports for internal use and external stakeholders as needed.
- Communicate effectively with MCOs, insurance providers, and consumers regarding billing inquiries or discrepancies.
- Participate in regular team meetings to provide updates on billing processes and claim statuses.
- Assist with implementing improvements to billing workflows and systems to enhance efficiency.
