The Media Planning Supervisor role oversees multiple key accounts in the MMG portfolio. This role designs extensive digital and traditional paid media strategies to meet client business objectives, including exploring opportunities in emerging channels, establishing success metrics, and ensuring flawless plan execution. You should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and be skilled in working with diverse groups of people. You would be a key day-to-day manager of clients media plans by helping coordinate and direct cross-channel media campaigns.
With emphasis on digital media, you would help assist the VP, Group Media Director with the clients digital business. This includes helping plan, coordinate and direct all digital and social advertising campaigns. This position is a hybrid role based in downtown Dallas, Texas.
Core Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the VP, Group Media Director to help maintain the quality, strategy, and integrity of all media plans/strategies/services delivered to clients, resulting in the cultivation of client loyalty and retention
- Develop curated omni-channel media plans to achieve client business goals, emphasizing each media type across funnel stages
- Develop clear, impactful media recommendations by evaluating media options to determine the most effective for reaching the target audiences
- Lead presentations, engage in client calls, share POVs
- Support media plan implementation with buying and execution teams
- Work with cross-agency teams to define scope, recommend measurable plans, budget, and align creative execution with media tactics
- Work under minimal supervision to track timelines and deliverables and manage resource allocation on assigned accounts
- Intimately understand the clients business, industry and competition, and leverage that knowledge to help generate new ideas to strategically grow their business
- Leads client communication with effective interactions that positively impacts the agency relationship, including formulation and presentation of new initiatives, long-range plans, tactics, budgets and timelines
- Ensure compliance with agency processes and promote best practices across teams
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue by expanding media budgets or services
- Develop expertise in data analytics to assess media performance and ROI
- Responsible for managing and mentoring Media Planners and Associates
- Inspire while leading by example in developing, motivating, mentoring, and coaching team members
Skills and Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of omni-channel experience; agency environment preferred
- Broad knowledge and experience in all aspects of media planning, from a traditional media perspective with a concentration in digital media
- Proven success with integrated advertising campaigns demonstrating business impact
- Ability to translate client goals and campaign objectives into a measurement plan
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on strengthening client relationships and services
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organized with strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficient in utilizing MRI, Scarborough, Neilsen and SQAD media tools for cross-channel planning
- Experience with media analytics and attribution tools
- Experience with data visualization software (Salesforce, Tableau, DOMO)
- Solid understanding of interactive research tools such as Ad Relevance, comScore, AdWords and Google Analytics, and the interaction of these tools
- Obtain a strong and broad analytical skill set and critical thinking for site/campaign optimization
