Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Occupational Health and Safety or construction industry-related area experience is strongly preferred.
Qualifications:
2 years of experience related to health and safety in construction. OSHA 30 training certification preferred. Board of Certified Safety Professionals certifications such as Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) is a plus. Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record as routine local travel and some distant travel is required.

Working Environment:
· Performance of duties will be in the office and job sites across multiple states. A company safety vehicle will be provided as part of this position.
· This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement after one year of employment and up to manager discretion.
· Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
· Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements.
· Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected.
· Occasional lifting of various items ranging from 10-60 pounds.
Objective:
· The role of the Safety Coordinator is to support and collaborate with the Safety Director to create a zero-incident safety culture.
· This position will require time in the field on job sites as well as time in the office environment.
· Occasional travel will be required for out of state work being performed by company personnel.
· This role will conduct audits of field operations to identify hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions on site and collaborate with project teams to make corrections.
· This role will document safety concerns on projects companywide and collaborate with the Safety Director to implement corrections and/or develop training for employees based off the findings from the field operations.
· This position will also interact with subcontractors to ensure that company policies and procedures are being followed on company’s job sites.
· This role will also interact with project owners or the general public whenever safety concerns or issues are discovered.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with developing and implementing curriculum for training employees in regard to health and safety within the construction industry.
· Assist with further development of the corporate health and safety program.
· Develop and distribute toolbox talk training for field employees.
· Responsible for managing company random DOT drug screens.
· Monitor field operations through conducting on site audits of active job sites to review compliance with company safety program and owner expectations.
· Conduct investigations of all incidents that occur at the company including but not limited to environmental, safety, health, property damage and vehicle accidents.
· Travel to various active job sites across multiple states.
· Responsible for conducting routine job site audits in order to identify, correct and document any hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions and provide guidance and training for project teams on ways to correct and prevent future occurrences.
· Support project teams by delivering safety equipment and PPE to job sites.
· Develop meaningful relationships between management and field personnel to help cultivate a positive safety culture within the company.
· Serve and promote active membership of the safety committee for the company.
· Assist with new hire orientations periodically.
· Promote accountability for adherence to health and safety policies and procedures.
· Track and document loss events and near misses reported by field personnel and review with Safety Director.
