PURPOSE: Collector / Medical Biller is responsible for collections and accurate and timely order entry and billing of prescriptions. Works with Medical Groups/IPAs, Physician Offices, and Insurance companies to ensure prescriptions claims are entered and billed correctly and timely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Billing, follow up and denial management of medical claims. Verify eligibility and DME benefits as well as request and follow up on authorizations.. Employees holding this position will be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by management.
· Bill electronic and paper claims
· Responsible for handling complaints and resolving billing issues (if issue requires a higher level of resolution or decision making then escalate to management after proper individual attempts have been made)
· Tracks and posts payments to determine correct payment and patient balances
· Work and track denials as well as determine root cause.
· Monitor and process patient balances
· Follow proper document management storage requirements under applicable law
· Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA
· Participates in audits, special projects as they arise and other duties as assigned
- Works over-time hours as needed and scheduled by Operations Manager
- Follow all HIPAA requirements, handling sensitive and confidential information
- Adhere to company policy and all state, federal and regulatory guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
