Junior Mold maker to program and operate CNC and EDM machines
Job Description
The CAM programmer / machinist will produce components of a tool build and repairing of plastic injection molds. May also design and build fixtures to support the molding department. Other responsibilities may include assisting the mold maker in their duties in the production or the repair of plastic injection molds and operating an EDM machine. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a tool shop with programing, set-up and operating CNC machines in an unsupervised environment.
Duties include:
Program CNC mills from a 3-D cad model using CAM software to produce plastic injection molds.
Set up CNC mills, select tooling, and set speeds and feeds for cutting steel.
Experience with Fusion 360 a plus, but will train if necessary.
Check parts using calipers and micrometers or other shop equipment.
Adjust programs for fit and finish of mold related parts.
Operate surface grinders and manual mills.
Proficient in CAD and blueprint reading.
Programing and operating EDM machines.
Working knowledge of building plastic injection molds.
Trouble shooting and repairing of plastic injection molds.
Will cross train in areas of mold building, mold repair, and EDM operation.
Work hours first shift Mon – Fri 7:00 am to 3:00 pm (limited overtime)
