Job Description
Under general supervision/procedural control, this Customer Service Specialist provides clerical services necessary to perform cashiering at Minneapolis College Store. This position also provides customer service to Minneapolis College faculty, staff, and students.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Serve as Minneapolis College Store Cashier operating POS system
- Administer Minneapolis College Campus Card system
- Provide a means of cash control and bus card inventory control
- Assist in maintenance of stock in College Store and storage areas
- Assist with Minneapolis College Store website
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of math sufficient to perform simple math functions and make change at the cash register.
- Knowledge of communications sufficient to provide customer service to all customers of the college both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of computer and technology skills sufficient to process online and point of service (POS) orders.
- Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, lift, and maneuver items daily.
- Lifting and moving materials weighing 15-50 lbs on a daily basis.
Other Requirement
Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.
Work Shift
Monday to Thursday 8:45 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., and Friday 8:45 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
Pay Range
Customer Service Specialist: $20.02 – $25.03 hourly / $41,801 – $52,262 annually.
