A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LEAD TEMPERING OPERATOR
As a Lead Tempering Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the tempering line is running efficiently and that team members know what to do and are productive. You will set up the machines for daily production and trouble shoot machines as needed. You will be responsible for lifting glass onto the conveyor and oversee the glass through the furnace heat treatment process. You will inspect finished product to ensure quality is achieved and glass is ready for shipment.
Using our standard operating processes and software, you will ensure product in created for jobs on time and to specifications. Attention to detail, safety and accuracy are key to success. Your ideas matter and will be key to continuous improvement for Minneapolis Glass.
LEAD TEMPERING OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School degree / GED required.
- 1-2 years of experience as a lead on a production line or manufacturing.
- 3 years of experience operating a production machine.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours a day with frequent lifting, carrying, bending and stretching.
- Tempering and/or glass fabrication experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with general mechanical tools, forklifts, cranes and other machines

PAY RATE
An experienced lead is paid on the glassworker scale up to the journey-level of $36.97/hr. This top level of pay requires relevant lead experience ideally with glass fabrication machines.
WORK SCHEDULE
This lead tempering operator position is full-time with a schedule of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and paid overtime beyond 8 hours daily.
