Minnehaha Academy is a Preschool – 12th grade Christian school and a ministry of the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church of America.
Our mission is to provide a high-quality education integrating the Christian faith and learning Support and implement the mission of the school and the Extended Day Program.
Minnehaha Academy has an opening for a preschool teaching aide beginning March 31, 2025.
Description:
This position is full-time, Monday-Friday. The hours are approximately 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
This position consists of two roles: a preschool TA during the regular school day (8:30 a.m. - 3:10 p.m.) and the lead preschool teacher during the Extended Day Program (3:10 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
This is an hourly position, 7.5 hours of paid time and an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.
The hourly wage will be between $17 - $20 per hour, based on education and experience.
There are no benefits available with this position.
Purpose:
To provide support to the Preschool teachers in implementing the daily learning plans and schedules
To assist Preschool students in their developmental growth following the direction of the Preschool Teacher
To provide supervision of the Preschool students in a calm and caring manner during the school day and the Extended Day Program
Primary Functions
Assist in delivery of instruction and support the physical, cognitive, social and emotional well-being of the children
Assist in day-to-day classroom operations
Supervise children throughout the day, including lunch, recess, rest times and after school care (Extended Day Program) for preschool students
Qualifications include:
High school diploma and either a). 2,080 hours as an aide or student intern or b). 12 quarter credits
Experience in Early Childhood and/or working with preschool children, parents and staff
Passion for working and playing with children
Timeliness, reliability and dependability
Strong people skills to interact positively with the children, parents, and staff
Ability to plan and implement age appropriate activities
Support and implementing the mission of the school
CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
Ability to complete a background check and DHS required training and courses
Ability to lift 40 pounds
