This Local Option Sales Tax Accountant II position is essential and will work in the Public Works Division of Saint Paul. The selected person will work with internal and external customers, assist leadership in financial reporting and decisions, and have excellent knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles, ACFR Statements, Operations, and Capital.
Duties: Performs intermediate level professional accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and preparation of financial reports and statements; and performs related duties as required.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Maintains accurate accounting for departmental funds, projects; completes allocations and accounting transactions including journal entries.
•Prepares financial projections, program income allocations, and financial reports for capital projects.
•Provides financial reports, variance analysis, and reconciliations for year end audit.
•Prepares year-end financial statements and periodic financial reports.
•Assists with the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, including schedules, notes, and tables.
•Reviews accounting procedures and recommends changes in procedures as needed.
