CLASS SUMMARY:
The Public Works Director is responsible for planning, administering, and directing activities related to the City's Public Works Department, including activities related to street, building, vehicle, equipment, water and sewer systems, parks, solid waste, engineering and forest maintenance and/or construction. Responsibilities may include supervising staff; formulating, developing, evaluating, revising, implementing, and/or overseeing long- and short-range plans, strategies, resource allocation, policies, procedures, programs, projects, goals, and objectives; overseeing departmental budget preparation; providing public-works related assistance and education; and performing related duties.
