Ujamaa Place engages these young men to foster their development within the Ujamaa Place community and assist them in becoming stronger, more responsible, employed, prosperous men and fathers who provide and contribute positively to their families and community.
Our mission is to provide holistic transformation for young African-American men experiencing inequity at the intersection of race and poverty. We help them achieve brotherhood, stability and personal success. Located in St. Paul, Minnesota, Ujamaa Place offers these young men success in their lives through education and skills training specifically aimed at turning their lives around to become productive members of their families and communities. Ujamaa Place is not a holding place, but a place of new beginnings and transition. Ujamaa Men continue to successfully hold jobs and are enrolled in job training programs in which they gain the skills necessary to secure high skill jobs with benefits.
Position
Ujamaa Place is seeking a results-driven Senior Grant Writer to lead our advancement team. The purpose of the position is to secure funding that will propel our organization’s mission forward. The Senior Grant Writer will take the lead in identifying grant opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, and managing the entire grant process. This is a high-impact role that directly contributes to our organization's growth.
Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and prioritize grant opportunities from government, corporate, and private foundations.
- Write and submit powerful, persuasive grant proposals that highlight our mission and projects.
- Manage the proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of all required materials.
- Develop and maintain a proposal calendar, tracking grants from initial identification through final report submission.
- Collaborate with team members to gather necessary information and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
