Position Overview
Responsible to maintain and repair electrical, electronic and automated equipment for Minnesota Dehydrated Vegetables, Inc.
Responsibilities
· Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all electronic, electrical, and automation equipment.
· Repairs and maintains equipment that operates primarily on the basis of mechanical principles.
· Inspect equipment, structures or material to identify errors, problems, and/or cause.
· Uses either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes, including PLC’s.
· Receives maintenance work orders from the Maintenance Supervisor, performs work according to specifications and completes accurate paperwork and then returns work order to the Maintenance Supervisor.
· Maintains and properly uses meters, oscilloscopes, alignment equipment and color sorter software.
· Reports any equipment or safety problems immediately to the Maintenance Supervisor.
· Performs other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
Requirements and Skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions when furnished in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:
Maintenance electrician license is a plus.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to use forklift, skid steer, electrical equipment, electronic equipment, various hand tools, meters and computer.
Education
Associate’s degree (A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
High School diploma or minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk and/or stand in addition to talk and hear. Frequent use of hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending and lifting between 50-100 pounds is required. Specific vision abilities required by this position include the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment/Conditions
Work is completed in the plant where the employee will be subject to moving mechanical parts, humidity and noise. Infrequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, high places, fumes and inclement non-weather conditions exists along with outdoor weather conditions, electrical shock and vibration exposures.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
