Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is looking for three talented and dedicated professionals to join our Equal Opportunity Office (EOO) as Equal Opportunity Consultant/ Investigators! This is an exciting and impactful opportunity to make a difference as a servant leader by ensuring a fair and inclusive workplace for all DCT employees. As part of our team, you will investigate and resolve complaints related to discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and other issues impacting protected classes under state and federal law. You will collaborate with Human Resources/Labor Relations, management, and legal teams to support a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Investigate complaints of sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation based on protected classes under the Minnesota Human Rights Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and other relevant laws.
  • Mediate workplace disputes involving protected class harassment and facilitate resolution of complaints at the lowest level possible.
  • Support DCT’s Equal Opportunity Office by conducting training and educational programs on harassment prevention, discrimination awareness, and fostering a respectful workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with the General Counsel’s Office (GCO) and the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office to respond to charges from enforcement agencies (e.g., EEOC, MDHR), lawsuits, and other legal processes.
  • Monitor DCT’s affirmative action efforts, ensuring hiring and retention practices support a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years’ conducting investigations into workplace discrimination or harassment related to protected class which must include:

  • Gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and writing detailed analytic reports.
  • Developing and delivering training focused on sexual harassment and protected class harassment/discrimination prevention.
  • Familiarity with state and federal civil rights laws such as the Minnesota Human Rights Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Equal Pay Act, ADEA, ADA and other civil rights regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills, including experience in establishing and maintaining record-keeping systems.

Note: A bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational management, law, or related field may substitute for one year of experience. A Master’s degree in a related field or a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree may substitute for two years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or similar law degree from accredited law school.
  • Completion of at least two years of law school.
  • Master’s degree in human resources, organizational management, or a related field.
  • EEO Investigator Certification or other EEO related certification.
  • Experience using digital case management systems (e.g., LaborSoft).
  • Knowledge of the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
  • Trained in mediation or alternative dispute resolution techniques.
  • A commitment to cultural responsiveness and experience working effectively with diverse groups.
