The Project Supervisor provides leadership to the Department of Transportation for the major rehabilitation and addition to the Blue Earth truck station and a new truck station, unheated storage, and salt shed on a new site for the St. Peter truck station. These are each $5M projects and require construction administration and inspection, which this position will provide.
This position provides project management involving the development, implementation, and support activities for large scale, multi-faceted programmed construction projects, so that the applicable construction projects (District 7 Truck Station facilities) are implemented in accordance with Minnesota Statutes 16A, B, and C; other applicable laws; and department policy.
This position will be tasked with managing the truck station improvement projects and will work with stakeholders, consultant architects and construction contractors from the beginning of the projects through completion, including consultant selection, scope, planning, design, specifications, and construction implementation and completion. The main and ultimate focus through the entire process is to provide leadership to the team that results in providing facilities that best meet the needs of the agency most economically, including but not limited to, monitoring, managing, and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of supervision or advanced professional leadwork direction of staff in building construction, trades, and building maintenance. The definition of project direction/supervision should include providing technical training and direction to other staff and planning/coordinating work activities. - Knowledge of local and state building, plumbing and electrical codes sufficient to comply with regulatory, MnDOT and OSHA safety standards.
