We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Minnesota Industrial Coatings. The Maintenance Technician oversees and performs a wide range of maintenance, repair, and safety tasks across our facility. The Maintenance Technician will provide emergency and scheduled repairs, conduct OSHA-required inspections, and ensure the proper functioning of production equipment, HVAC systems, and building infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment or call out to vendors to arrange servicing.
- Perform OSHA required inspections and assist with safety committee maintenance fixes.
- Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform annual and monthly maintenance of HVAC units and make service calls as needed.
- Operate industrial equipment such as scissor lifts and forklifts.
- Monitor and perform general routine maintenance or repairs on air compressors, indoor and outdoor lighting, camera systems, plumbing needs, eye wash stations, overhead heaters, outdoor parking and driveways/sidewalks, and other equipment as needed
- Take responsibility for general groundskeeping and determine needs for repair, replacement, and upgrading as needed.
- Address roof leaks as needed.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve issues and needs throughout the facility.
- Assist the production line and shop floor with tasks in times of high demand.
- Assist/support the Operations Manager with tasks as necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary education preferred
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in maintenance positions in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of facilities repair work, installations, construction works, plumbing, etc.
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of electrical wiring systems, low and high voltage preferred a plus
- Paint facility experience a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently
- Excellent hand/eye coordination
- Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
- Ability to consistently wear personal protective equipment
- Standing, walking, and bending consistently
- Periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools

The expected base pay range for this position is between $25 and $30 per hour. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
