Job Description
The Third Judicial District is seeking a Court Operations Associate to join the Waseca County Court Administration team in Waseca, MN.
The Court Operations Associate position is a fast-paced, highly detail-orientated position that will be specialized within the case types of Civil, Family, and Probate. The position will have a variety of responsibilities such as performing advanced clerical work, providing exceptional customer service on the phone or in person, and ensuring compliance with applicable court rules, policies, and standards. This position will work directly with the public, judges, and justice partners. Duties require the application of independent judgment and the interpretations of established laws, policies, procedures, regulations based on training and knowledge gained through experience on the job.
This AFSCME represented position is classified as a Court operations Associate and located in the Waseca County Courthouse, 307 North State Street, Waseca, MN 56093. What You Will Do
The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position :
- Perform the full scope of court operations work involved in case processing within Civil, Family, and Probate cases, including high priority work such as Orders for Protection and Harassment Restraining Orders. Perform the work manually and electronically on the Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS), Task Manager, Jury System, and related computer systems.
- Perform a variety of advanced clerical functions, using a wide array of applications, systems, and resources.
- Provide assistance to attorneys, parties, self-represented litigants, judges, and the public by responding to a variety of questions in-person, over the phone, by mail, and / or electronically.
- Perform telephone and counter work quickly and courteously, across all case types.
- Provide courtroom coverage and assistance : work with judges, court reporters, and other justice partners, prepare case files for court, check people in, call cases, swear in witnesses, handle court documents, update court files during hearings, ensure accuracy of court record, and host remote calendars via Zoom.
- Review, enter, record, and update case information using an electronic case processing system and related applications and equipment.
- Schedule and maintain court calendars.
- Receive, process, and receipt payments due to the court.
- May perform the duties of an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO) including recording and monitoring court proceedings.
- Reviews legal documents for completeness.
