Hennepin County District Court invites qualified applicants for two Human Resources Coordinators in the Human Resources and Development Division (HRD).

This position provides administrative coordination across the full complement of human resources services, including payroll, recruitment, onboarding, leaves of absence, and employee relations. The individual in this role will work in support of judicial officers and administrative court staff.

This position is full-time, non-exempt, and part of the Human Resources and Development Division located in the Hennepin County Government Center (300 S. 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN). Business hours for this position are 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility in work location and hours. Occasional travel within the Twin Cities or Greater Minnesota may be required. This is a hybrid role working both on-site and remotely, depending on business needs.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

  • Administer a range of HR transaction functions such as payroll, compensation, benefits, applicant management, performance management systems, leaves of absence, and employee wellness.
  • Present at New Employee Orientation (NEO) sessions to welcome and onboard new staff, providing key information about HR policies, benefits, and organizational culture.
  • Provide front desk support, serving as the first point of contact for employees and visitors, ensuring professional and efficient service.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts to attract a diverse applicant pool, including job fairs, on-campus, and remote recruiting programs.
  • Contribute to Human Resources and Development efforts with stakeholders, including statewide strategic efforts and goals.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Below are the past experiences that will enable success in the role. For education requirements listed, the equivalent number of years of related experience may serve as a substitute.
  • Four (4) years of post-high school education and experience with at least one (1) year of experience in a human resources, court, legal, or other fast paced, technology driven environment.
  • As this position will be working partially remotely, access to reliable internet connection is required during this time.

  • Ability to independently solve issues using variety of resources while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated skills using software and database systems and applying policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal education or training in human resources, such as a bachelor's degree, master's degree or PHR/SPHR certification.
  • Demonstrated application of human resources best practices and employment law.
  • Experience working with human resources information systems, applicant tracking systems, and learning management systems.

SALARY

The expected starting salary range for external candidates is $29.13 to $37.18 per hour ($60,823 to $77,631 annually). The full salary range for this position is $29.13 to $45.22 per hour ($60,823 to $94,419 annually). This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of Minnesota employee benefits.
