What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Aide - Polk County position at Minnesota Merit System?
This paraprofessional position is office based and responsible for conducting the agencies intake duties for social service programs. The person selected must be able to interview people that are contacting the agency, provide referral to community resources, and explain social service programs. Additionally, they will provide clerical support to Adult Protective Services and Disability Services Social Workers. The Primary responsibilities include computer support and contact with clients or community resources. Polk County offers a highly competitive benefits package.

• Recruits, selects, orients and trains volunteers
• Makes contact with community resources as assigned.
• Performs clerical functions as assigned.
• Composes correspondence and constructs reports as needed.High school degree, or the equivalent, and in addition, either: 1) three years of clerical experience and/or experience working with the public; or 2) two years of clerical experience in a public welfare/human service agency; or 3) two years of experience as a Community Service Aide or similar experience in a private non-profit or other public agency; or 4) two years of study at an accredited two or four-year college with emphasis in the behavioral sciences, business, or closely related subjects (at least 23 quarter credits or 16 semester credits).

Please note, you are applying for a specific county vacancy and the exam must be completed online by April 30, 2025, (midnight)
After you apply, you will receive an e-mail with a link to the test that you will need to take. Please allow one hour in order to take the exam in it's entirety as required.
If a passing score is obtained, your score will remain on the eligible list up to one year (or until you are hired into a permanent position). You will not need to re-take this online examination if you have obtained a passing score of at least 70. If you have any changes to your application, such as updating your availability, please notify the Merit System directly.
