Job Summary
An auto finance sales rep consults with customers to guide them through the purchase of a vehicle. You develop a relationship with each client with the goal of creating lifelong customers, providing excellent customer service, and answering questions. These questions can be about financing, insurance, and other programs such as available extended warranties on client vehicle. Your duties include explaining service policies provided by the manufacturer and the dealer. In some positions, you have responsibilities such as reporting the customer’s credit, processing financing, and leasing deals, securing approval through your dealer’s financial and bank partnerships while following all federal and state vehicle sales laws. You train the sales team and provide them with updated information on finance and lease programs as well as customer benefits of this financing
Duties
Customer interaction:
Meeting with potential buyers, understanding their needs, and presenting vehicle options that best fit their budget and requirements.
Test drives:
Accompanying customers on test drives, highlighting vehicle features and benefits.
Sales negotiation:
Negotiating price and terms with customers to reach an agreement on the vehicle purchase.
Financing explanation:
Presenting various financing options including loan terms, interest rates, and lease agreements.
Credit application processing:
Assisting customers with completing credit applications and working with lenders to secure loan approval.
Product knowledge:
Staying updated on current vehicle models, features, and dealership promotions.
Add-on sales:
Promoting additional services like extended warranties, maintenance plans, and vehicle protection packages.
Paperwork completion:
Preparing all necessary sales and financing paperwork accurately and efficiently.
Customer follow-up:
Maintaining contact with customers after the sale to ensure satisfaction and address any
Experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers
- Strong sales and negotiation abilities
- Strong focus on CRM day to day operations
- Client reviews daily with salesperson
- Knowledge of automotive financing products and regulations
- Understanding of credit scoring and loan processes
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
