Description :
The Medical Assistant functions as an important member of the healthcare team by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The Medical Assistant performs in a manner consistent with MN Women’s Care mission, policies, and initiatives while always maintaining patient confidentiality.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities ?
- Prepares instruments, equipment and materials for patient care and keeps exam rooms aseptic, neat, and stocked. ?
- Obtains and documents complete patient data in a timely and accurate manner. ?
- Prepares patients for exams and assists provider with exams, tests, and procedures as needed. ?
- Provides patients with instructions in preparation for specific procedures and tests when appropriate. ?
- Performs basic procedures as ordered by provider and within scope of practice. ?
- Ensure charges are submitted in a timely manner. ?
- Proficiently uses computer applications as required for patient care. ?
- Processes prescriptions as directed by provider. ?
- Communicates with patients about concerns, collects information, and relays this information professionally and efficiently to the provider. ?
- Performs and complies with quality control measures. ?
- Completes care team calls in a timely manner and assist with other care teams as needed. ?
- Obtains all necessary medical records for their patients. ?
- Completes necessary FLMA / STD paperwork. ?
- Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
