PURPOSE: Lead Minnetrista's hospitality operations focusing on facility rentals, signature events, and in-house food service. Direct operations to ensure excellence in customer service while maximizing operational efficiency and maintaining high quality standards for both events and food service within established budget parameters.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business, or related field with 3-5 years' experience in high-level event management and food service operations. Significant professional experience can be substituted for degree.
- Possess current ServSafe certification or ability to complete certification.
- Demonstrate experience in staff supervision and team leadership
- Show proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, Altru (Blackbaud) preferred, and event planning software
- Possess strong budget management and cost control skills
- Have familiarity in menu planning and food preparation
- Demonstrate excellence in project management, organization, strategic planning, and process improvements with experience within the context of food service and event planning.

JOB DUTIES:
- Develop and manage department budget, including expense tracking, profitability monitoring, and financial reporting.
- Create and implement blueprint for department revenue growth.
- Generate performance analytics and metrics reports to inform decision-making and measure progress.
- Manage facility rental operations for both indoor and outdoor spaces, ensuring maximum utilization and revenue generation with a high level of customer service.
- Direct the private rental and food service operations. Support organizational programming efforts with food service.
- Establish and maintain quality standards for all Hospitality services.
- Develop standardized processes, recipes, menus, and presentation guidelines for internal catering program. Monitor department service standards.
- Maintain compliance with health/safety regulations.
- Supervise and schedule two part time staff members (Events Specialist and Kitchen Operations Specialist), and occasional contractor workers.
- Manage vendor/supplier relationships and contracts, including external catering partners, supply vendors, and other event planners.
- In coordination with Maintenance team, oversee equipment maintenance and replacement planning.
- Create and maintain event documentation and timelines.
- With the assistance of the Event Specialist, coordinate event planning efforts for all rental events, ensuring client satisfaction and institutional asset preservation.
- Manage rental event logistics and coordinate details with cross-departmental teams.
- Oversee food and beverage inventory ordering and management processes, with assistance from the Kitchen Operation Specialist.
- Oversee the marketing and sales funnel for the rental of Minnetrista spaces and maintain high-quality sales data for the rental program, with assistance from the Events Specialist.
- Provide on-site, day of event management and/or catering service staffing when needed.
- Perform all other duties required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Position requires schedule flexibility including evenings and weekends. Work involves both office and kitchen environments. Must be able to move throughout 40-acre campus and lift up to 50 lbs. Valid driver's license required.
