Daily Hours: 8 hours
SUMMARY
Under close supervision, assists with a variety of basic office, clerical, and accounting support functions.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Performs basic clerical and accounting duties, including cashier, bookkeeping, data entry, record
keeping, maintaining files, and generating reports; duties may vary according to job assignment.
• Collects special fees and account information, and balances account ledgers.
• Cross-trains in a variety of accounting duties, and assists accounting staff as directed.
• Supports the relationship between the Minot Public School District and the general public by
demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and District
staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and District information;
follows compliance rules governing child abuse; performs related duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND one year of bookkeeping and accounting experience; OR an
equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge of:
• MPS organization, operations, policies, and procedures.
• General accounting standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Principles of record keeping, and basic bookkeeping and accounting rules.
• Business computers and spreadsheet software.
Skill in:
• Entering numerical data into a computer system with speed and accuracy.
• Following detailed instructions required for maintenance of accurate accounting records.
• Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
• Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid North Dakota State Driver’s License may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
