What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gas Cut Operator - 1st Shift position at Minute Men Staffing?
A large metal manufacturer in the Louisville area (PRP area) needs an experienced Gas Cut Operator on 1st shift. This is a full-time temp-to-hire position; the schedule is Monday - Thursday with hours being 6 am to 4:30 pm. Must have knowledge of the operation, preventative maintenance, reading blueprints, customer specifications, setup, and following inspection methods. They will work closely with other members of the team to achieve established goals and objectives. The gas-cutting operator will work to maintain continuous process improvements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform Preventative Maintenance for assigned equipment
- Proper set up of gas cutting machine
- Accurate interpretation of blueprints and customer specifications
- Selecting and loading programs and materials
- Ensure that quality inspection criteria are being followed for all parts cut
- Ensure the accuracy of transactions
- Follow SWI, processes, and procedures
- Support fellow team members to achieve company goals and objectives
- Complies with EHS requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understanding of setup and operation of the gas-cutting machinery
- Ability to visually inspect parts to identify any quality defects.
- Read blueprints and customer specifications
- Computer knowledge
- Mechanical aptitude
Credentials and Experience
Training and experience on gas cutting equipment is preferred, may consider training
- Completion of MMF Employee Training Checklist
Special Requirements
Willingness to work a variety of shifts
- Overtime requirements
- Must be able to lift 45lbs
- Standing for long periods and stooping, bending, stretching, twisting
- Maybe crane certified (Supervisor decision)
