SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing production areas with raw materials and reporting movement of raw and in-process materials on inventory accounting system. Responsible for printing orders and pulling ordered material from finished goods stock, preparing FG materials for shipment, and placing ordered material on outbound trucks using forklift equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintain accurate receivable inventory accounting records.
The employee must be able to operate fork truck equipment, powered and manual material handling equipment and overhead hoists. The employee is responsible for insuring equipment is maintained in serviceable condition, by conducting daily documented inspections.
- Exhibit departmental and plant leadership for meeting Safety, Customer Service and Productivity goals
- Transfer hazardous and non-hazardous materials per EPA and other regulatory guidelines
- Required to meet Plant average for attendance
- Maintain accurate inventory records and work with material control group to insure appropriate inventory level
- Assist E warehouse material handler as needed
- Provide on the job training for certification of peers
- Conduct documented daily equipment inspections
- Perform other job duties as assigned to meet business needs
- Participates in Safety/Housekeeping Audits
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Minimum of (3-6) months to achieve acceptable quality and quantity performance
Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of computer systems for inventory control. Must be familiar with DOT regulations.
Judgement: Judgement required to set up and operate hoists, fork trucks, other material handling activities and effective cost control of inventories
Materials & Products: Has latitude of action, which can result in loss of material due to damage
Tools & Equipment: Primary tools include fork trucks, pallet jacks, overhead hoists, scales and computers.
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Mental Effort: Anticipating needs of production operations and maintaining various inventory records
Surroundings: Average factory surroundings with minimal exposure to vapor levels that may sometimes require protective equipment
Hazards: Moving of heavy loads and frequent manual handling of FG materials.
License/Training: Must have successfully completed training process required for warehouser position within a 6-month timeframe. Must be licensed for fork trucks and other material handling equipment as needed.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
