What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Recreation Day Camp Counselor position at Mirador?
JOB SUMMARY :
Summer Camp Counselors ensure the physical, mental and emotional safety of campers. They will also facilitate daily camp activities with groups and individuals, implement weekly programming, and facilitate community building within the camper group, as well as within the greater camp community.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Participates in the planning, implementation and facilitation of all camp activities as needed.
- Responsible for participating in and leading camper activities.
- Assists in the coordination of all camp activities.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in all situations.
- Promotes the Zion Park District in a positive manner to the public and co-workers.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintains effective relationships with other staff and works as a member of the staff team.
- Assists in the opening and closing of program sites / rooms in accordance with established procedures.
