What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estate Gardener position at Miramont Country Club?
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Gardener to join our team to assist with mowing, weed eating, edging, trimming, planting, pool or fountain maintenance, fertilization and any other garden tasks. Estate Gardeners work in both group project settings as well as receive personal training for individual assignments. Candidates must be self-motivated and a contributing team member.
Duties
- Mowing with both riding and self-propelled mowers
- Weed eating with line trimmers
- Use edging and clean line equipment
- Operation of both hand and backpack blowers
- Utilize backpack sprayers and fertilizer equipment
- Assisting with any irrigation/drainage repairs
- Use of pool cleaning equipment
- Proper operation of pressure washing units
- Proper ladder and climbing techniques
- Use of trimming equipment and saws
- Planting of large to small plants
- Will report to a professional garden supervisor for training and advice
- Any other functions needed to maintain the needs of the estate (ex: Christmas light install and take down, party set up and clean up, package receipt and unloading
Experience
- Previous experience in gardening or landscape maintenance is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with power tools used in gardening tasks is a plus.
- Knowledge of greenhouse operations and plant care practices is advantageous.
- Experience in groundskeeping or farm work can be beneficial for this role.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately while working independently or as part of a team.
