What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at MIRATECH Corporation?
Reports to: Houston Plant Manager
Cooperates with: Production, Sales, Shipping, Vendors
Primary Responsibility: Lead and coordinate maintenance operations at our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the plant's equipment, utilities, and systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably to meet production goals.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, schedule, and support a team of maintenance technicians.
- Coordinate and perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in real time.
- Maintain work order systems and ensure accurate tracking of repairs using a CMMS.
- Ensure safety compliance and proper documentation across all maintenance work.
- Collaborate with production to support uptime and respond quickly to operational needs.
- Assist with facility upgrades, capital projects, and equipment installations.
- Lead by example-jumping in to assist on the floor when needed.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff, supporting development and performance.
- Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs such as downtime, repair times, and PM completion rates.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with PLCs, motor controls, pumps, valves, and rotating equipment.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Basic understanding of OSHA safety standards and maintenance best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Physical Demands/Abilities:
- Ability to lift 60 pounds
- Ability to Stand for long periods of time
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work at heights.
- Comfortable working in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures, noise, and exposure to industrial equipment.
- Availability to work occasional overtime, nights, or weekends as needed.
- Ability to respond to urgent mechanical or electrical breakdowns during non-standard business hours.
Work Experience:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment (required)
- 2 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
- 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong track record of hands-on work in fast-paced environments.
- Experience managing or working within a maintenance team structur
