Primary Responsibility: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance production capabilities. This role will play a key part in driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing workflows, and integrating new manufacturing technologies within MIRATECH's steel manufacturing operations.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop, improve, and document manufacturing processes by analyzing product designs, work methods, and production workflows.
· Develop standard work procedures and best practices to maintain consistency and efficiency in production.
· Increase manufacturing efficiency by optimizing work cell layouts, space utilization, and equipment use.
· Evaluate and implement automation, tooling, and process enhancements to improve throughput and reduce waste.
· Provide technical support for manufacturing operations, troubleshooting issues and implementing corrective actions.
· Analyze production labor and material costs to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
· Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and equipment that enhance productivity.
· Train production personnel on new manufacturing techniques, processes, and equipment operation.
· Support capital expenditure projects, including justification, selection, and implementation of new equipment.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
· 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a sheet metal welding shop.
· Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement and cost reduction.
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
· Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for process and layout design.
· Working Knowledge of ERP software
· Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and work with minimal supervision.
· Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
