Per Diem as needed by the department.
As a per diem Pharmacist for MiraVista in Holyoke, Massachusetts, youll bring your experience and knowledge where your voice matters. A Pharmacist is an integral part of our multidisciplinary treatment team. You will provide direct care and support not only to our patients but also their families and make decisions that impact the lives of your peers, your patients, and your community. In exchange, we will care for you, as much as you care for our patients.
As a Per Diem Pharmacist:

You work to ensure the delivery of appropriate medication therapy to patients in a timely and safe manner

You will review medication orders to determine whether clinically appropriate and to minimize risk of adverse events

You contribute effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team to enhance patient care

You will supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns

You will work collaboratively with all pharmacy staff members to effectively manage pharmacy inventory

You provide drug information to medical staff and patients upon request or when need is apparent

You work to assist in the maintenance of relevant patient files within the Electronic Health Record

You must comply with state and federal pharmacy regulations as well as hospital policies to ensure quality of pharmacy services
Successful Per Diem Pharmacist candidates will have the following:

Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree

Minimum of one to three years of experience working in a hospital or long-term care pharmacy setting strongly preferred

Valid Massachusetts pharmacist license

Experience with automated dispensing machines (ex. Pyxis, Omnicell)

Effective oral and written communication skills
