MISA Metal Processing located in Portland, TN is searching for a Operations Manager This person should be a hands on site leader who can promote a positive culture and achieve P&L accomplishments. The Operations Manager will report directly to the General Manager. The Operations Manager drives, guides and influences the day-to-day business activities. This location is a 2 shift steel slitting operation
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations
Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Determines staff requirements, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring and training of new workers.
Provides required discipline, evaluations and feedback constructively.
Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Department Manager for action.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
7 years’ experience required in the metal processing or fabrication industry (Slitter/Blanking experience a plus)
Operational management experience in a manufacturing environment with P&L responsibility
A proven skill set demonstrating effective communication, planning and organization skills
Great leadership and communications skills needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
