What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Secretary position at MISD Educational Service Center?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in typing, word processing and business practices.
- Above average knowledge of language skills, particularly in areas of spelling, punctuation and proper English usage.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Publisher and other applications as well as data entry and data management skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, highly demanding environment.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to function effectively with minimal direct supervision and make minor office decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and to work cooperatively in daily interactions with staff, general public and service clientele.
- Broad knowledge of office procedures and office machines.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to varied responsibilities.
- Present a neat and professional appearance.
- Work history and reputation of being habitually supportive of peers, of habitually maintaining outward composure, being positive and working effectively and efficiently with supervision.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach high and low, lift and carry 40 pounds.
- Must pass criminal background check as required by the School Safety Legislation.
RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
- Promptly and courteously handle inquiries and visitors who have business to conduct in the department.
Prepare and distribute materials as required. - Receive incoming calls, direct them as appropriate and provide assistance as required.
- Perform such other functions and duties as deemed necessary by the administrator.
SALARY: $17.00 per hour
