Misericordia University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Public Health (Associate Professor rank may be considered). We seek candidates who bring promise for excellence in both teaching and mentorship of undergraduate students in support of our new undergraduate program.
Responsibilities for this ten-month position include teaching a variety of introductory and upper-level courses in both the Public Health program and the core undergraduate curriculum, as needed. The successful candidate will support the Public Health Program as it grows to meet the needs of students on our campus interested in studying public health by introducing new courses in their area of expertise, advising and mentoring undergraduate students, maintaining an active and productive research program, and participate in professional service and outreach activities.
Demonstrated teaching effectiveness, a strong commitment to student engagement, and evidence of ability to engage in a promising research agenda are essential. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to the values and principles of a liberal arts education and collaborate effectively with colleagues within the program and across the university.
REQUIREMENTS : (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and / or experience may be considered)
Education
- A Master’s Degree in Public Health or related field. Ph.D. or DrPH recommended.
