Administrative Assistant, Learning & Development
Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), a Christian nonprofit organization founded in 1945, is seeking people who share our passion for seeing the Great Commission carried out near and far. MAF operates globally, but its headquarters are located in Nampa, Idaho. As a part of this organization, this position is a vital part in bringing the Gospel, healthcare, education, disaster relief, food and clean water to isolated people in developing countries.
A Brief Overview
This role provides administrative support to the Learning & Development department (Director and Training Specialists), as an essential part of the work of MAF so that the Gospel is proclaimed, and God's Kingdom is extended.
This position requires an active commitment to the mission, values, and doctrinal stance of MAF. In the course of performing job duties, the employee will act in a manner that is Christ-honoring as well as Christ-like, demonstrating a personal Christian faith and witness in all interpersonal interactions.
Essential Duties
o Administrative Support to Learning & Development Department
- Assists L&D team in the creation and communication of new tools/resources for MAF staff
- Assists L&D team to constantly improve existing training (Candidacy, Orientation, New Hire, etc.)
- Receives and screens department visitors and telephone calls; provides information and answers questions as appropriate
- Updates and makes improvements to Learning & Development SharePoint page
- Provides support to New Hire class
- Coordinates receptions and luncheons, as needed
- Processes required forms for new Career and Short-Term (STA) staff hires
- Works with volunteer ministry when volunteers are needed
- Participates in monthly Admin meetings to support communication and unity with other department
o Administrative Support for Candidacy, Orientation, and Friends & Family
- Obtains supplies needed for Candidacy and Orientation training
- Partners with other departments to coordinate logistics
- Creates and maintains files for Candidacy and Orientation
- Prepares and processes various documents and forms for Career staff
- Communicates with candidate/orientees about logistics (housing, childcare, etc.)
- Initiates new career staff ID badge requests through Sharepoint and follow up with VP through completion
- Creates forms in Formstack, as needed
- Assists with coordinating Friends and Family events and Welcome Lunch
- Travels to grocery stores and restaurants to select and procure food and supplies for events.
o Active Member of Learning & Development Leadership Team
- Provides ideas and suggestions related to the strategy, goals and priorities of the L&D department
- Manages own projects to leverage the assistant's strengths, experience and skills
- Participates and takes notes in monthly L&D team meetings
Qualifications
- Some college education with business coursework is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years of administrative experience is required, preferably in a related setting
Skills
- Advanced skill in filing, organizing, and record-keeping
- Intermediate skill in accurate keyboarding
- Intermediate skill in grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Intermediate ability in conducting internet research
- Intermediate skill in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, and SharePoint
- Intermediate ability in interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Intermediate skill in creatively planning and implementing events for various sized groups
- Intermediate skill in Adobe Interactive Forms

Pay: $18.73 - $25.29 per hour
