What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Mission Bell Manufacturing?
SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Director of Sales, and in accordance with established standards, it is primarily responsible for preparing Mission Bell project bids and proposals based on estimated materials costs, labor costs and project specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (this is a sample list):
Project Estimating
· Review architectural plans using Innergy for millwork and casework
· Takeoff all millwork and casework items, by room and elevation
· Reviews architectural plans for specialty materials and sub-contract items to be priced
· Consistently delivers high quality customer service, both responding to inquiries in a timely manner as well as keeping the customers’ need as top priority
· Obtains quotes from vendors for buyout materials
· Labels plans and specifications with respective Mission Bell computer item numbers
· Create required “Requests for Information” (RFI’s) from/for the General Contractor
· Based on materials and labor costs, prepare and transmit (via email) detailed project proposals, including all work to be performed and excluded work within pre-established and committed time frames
· Problem-solve with customers/contractors and participates in job walks as necessary
· Communication with vendors, customers, and contractors as necessary to ensure accurate estimates
Administrative
· Supplies office administration forms and responds to administration requests in a timely manner ensuring sufficient time for task completion
· Maintains files (including marking and labeling plans) consistent with other Mission Bell Estimators
· Enters required information in computer to create bids/proposals
· Partners with team members in project team to ensure quality outcomes
· Facilitates continuous learning via thorough review and recap of completed projects with the project team
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

· Related degree required or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Working knowledge and understanding of estimating cabinet projects and millwork as well as products such as ornamental metal, stainless steel, wood, glass, stone, and solid surfaces.
· Education or experience in fields such as Architecture, Construction, Manufacturing, etc. would be a plus
· Ability to read architectural drawings, specs and scope sheets required
· Experience and exposure in a wood working environment is a plus (Millwork preferred)
· Must have great accuracy and attention to detail
· Learning Agility; the ability to learn and apply new knowledge quickly
· Proficient with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)

· Occasional travel to sub-contractor facilities and woodworking conventions may be required.
