What are the responsibilities and job description for the NextGen Childcare position at MISSION Community Church?
Child Care Staff Member
General Description:
To support MISSION in its goal to provide high-quality childcare and ministry environments throughout the year and in support of other ministries and events. The Child Care staff member provides nurturing and developmentally appropriate care within our childcare programs to support the spiritual development of families throughout various studies and events year-round.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide nurturing care to children
- Provide a welcoming guest experience for parents
- Maintain clean and safe classroom environments alongside other childcare workers
- Guide/facilitate developmentally appropriate activities for children utilizing provided curriculum (when applicable)
- Oversee Bible lessons, classroom activities, and activities inside and outside of the classroom as needed
- Complete and maintain up-to-date mandatory reporting training
- Adhere to the policies and procedures set forth by MISSION Community Church and follow ministry area guidelines
- Communicate with Childcare Coordinator about schedule changes
- Maintain accurate accounting of hours worked through MISSION’s current payroll system
Position Requirements:
- Prior childcare experience preferred
- 18 years or older (High School Grad or equivalent) preferred
- Ability to work weekday evenings and occasional weekends for special events
- Represent MISSION well in the community and in consistent with MISSION’s core values and in adherence to MISSION’s Employee Handbook
Work Schedule:
- Part Time Position ( <10 hours per week )
- Varies: typically Monday-Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings
