What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Packers 2nd Shift position at Mission Foods?
Mission Foods is hiring packer for 2nd Shift for our plant in Tempe, AZ.
The Packer is responsible for the proper hand-packaging of quality corn or flour tortillas and/or fried products.
2nd Shift:
SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
***Must be available to work weekends and OT ***
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for following Good Manufacturing Practices, especially good hand-washing practices.
- Hand package corn or flour tortillas and/or fried products.
- Look at stacker mirror at all times to watch for tortilla and or fried product jams.
- Check the appearance and quality of tortillas/fried product.
- Check bags to make sure proper packaging is being used.
- Ensure catch-pan is cleaned constantly.
- Inspect tortillas/fried product to assure they are free of foreign materials or contamination.
- Maintain rework containers closed.
- Rework the tortillas/fried product according to their formula.
- Keep work area clean.
- Report to work on-time to relieve the previous shift.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Must know how to read, write, add and subtract
- Able to work flexible schedule and weekends
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends and holidays.
